Snake Year Folklore

Place a pine twig branch to represent the Snake at your front door on the Eve of the New Year (February 9). It’s suggested to wear dark colored clothing for the New Year in recognition of 2013 as the Year of the Black Snake. Some astrologers call this a year of the Snake Sleeping in Winter, “which warns of a period of preparing for hard times”. In Japan, a most beautiful woman is complimented as “a real snake”. From ancient times, the Vietnamese and Chinese believed ” a snake in the house” meant the family would never starve. Vietnam is sometimes called the Land of Snakes. The Snake is essential in the ecological balance for they eat the mice that eat the farmers’ rice!

    Hello,

As a metal tiger, is it important for those of us who aren’t snakes, to wear a snake pendant or something like that?

    Thanks,

    VZ
